What is AirServer?

AirServer Connect is a hardware screen-mirroring receiver for meeting rooms, classrooms, and lecture halls. It takes AirPlay, Google Cast, and Miracast over HDMI so people can share without cables. It is a receiver, not a signage player — Fugo fills the background between casting sessions.

What happens when someone casts to the screen?

Casting always wins. The moment someone mirrors, their session covers the whole display and Fugo steps aside. When they disconnect, AirServer returns to its Website background and Fugo resumes the scheduled playlist automatically — no input switch, no remote.

What devices can mirror to an AirServer screen?

Any phone, tablet, or computer with AirPlay, Google Cast, or Miracast — including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android, Chromebook, and Windows. AirServer receives; Fugo fills the screen between those sessions.

How is this different from Fugo’s own screen casting?

Fugo’s built-in casting is browser-based: open the casting link on the screen and share a tab, window, or desktop from Chrome. AirServer receives native AirPlay, Cast, and Miracast — including from phones — in rooms that already work that way. Keep AirServer for sharing; let Fugo run the hours between meetings.

What digital signage software works with AirServer?

AirServer doesn’t ship a CMS. Its custom-background documentation lists HTML signage players that belong in the Website background, Fugo among them. Behind that URL you get Fugo’s design, playlists, scheduling, triggers, permissions, and monitoring across the whole estate.

Can I upload a static background instead?

Yes — built-in images or an uploaded PNG/JPG work for one unchanging picture. They don’t scale across rooms or change on a schedule. Pointing the background at Fugo keeps one URL on the device and moves all content control into the CMS.

What can Fugo play on an AirServer screen?

The same as any other Fugo screen: media, HTML5, Web Page and HTML apps, TV dashboards, Design Studio layouts, and triggers. Signage only shows while nobody is casting.

Can I use AirServer screens in a video wall?

Fugo can span content across multiple paired screens — see video wall digital signage. AirServer rooms are usually single displays that also mirror; for a permanent multi-panel wall, dedicated players are the better fit.

Are there limits to running signage this way?

Two. Signage only shows between casting sessions — a busy room shows little of it. And Fugo here is the browser-based player inside AirServer’s background, so the receiver must stay powered and online. For uninterrupted signage, use a dedicated Fugo player.

Do I need to install anything on the AirServer?

No. Point the Website background at https://player.fugo.ai — that is the install. The Connect device itself still needs to be set up per AirServer’s instructions for your model.

How do I connect an AirServer device to Fugo?

In Device Management: Personalization → Background → Website, enter https://player.fugo.ai, then pair with the on-screen PIN in Fugo. Backgrounds are per device. Full steps: AirServer setup guide.

Which AirServer devices work with Fugo?

Any Connect receiver whose Device Management offers the Website background option. If Website is listed under Personalization → Background, Fugo will run there. Mixed estates can all point at the same player URL.

Does an AirServer screen use a Fugo licence?

Yes. A paired AirServer display uses one normal Fugo screen licence, whether or not anyone is actively casting to it.
