Use cases

Common healthcare screen setups

Healthcare facilities have unique communication challenges. Fugo addresses all of them — from the moment a patient enters reception to the clinical updates your nursing teams need throughout their shift.

Set expectations and reduce anxiety

Replace silent waiting rooms with informative, engaging screens that display health education content, facility news, average wait times, and entertainment. Studies consistently show that patients who feel informed during their wait report significantly higher satisfaction scores.

Platform features

Reliable screens with controlled publishing

Fugo is designed to meet the operational demands of healthcare organisations — reliable, secure, and manageable by non-technical staff without IT involvement.

Permissions and roles for clinical environments

Fugo's architecture is designed so that no protected health information (PHI) ever needs to appear on a screen. Patient queue systems display anonymous ticket numbers rather than names, wait time displays show averages rather than individual records, and our data integration layer can be configured to anonymise or omit sensitive fields.

Scheduling for recurring updates

Healthcare facilities cannot have screens going blank. Fugo's media players cache content locally so that displays continue operating even if the internet connection is temporarily lost. Our enterprise hardware players are rated for 24/7 continuous operation.

Centralised management across sites

Manage digital signage across all your facilities — hospitals, clinics, GP surgeries, and administrative offices — from a single Fugo dashboard. Push network-wide health campaigns from central communications, allow individual facilities to manage their own local content.

Integrations

The right information on the right screen, inside your protected systems

Fugo connects to the platforms your clinical and admin teams already rely on, so patient-facing and staff screens display accurate, current information without touching protected systems.

Common questions

Healthcare digital signage FAQs

Answers to the most common questions about deploying digital signage in hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities.

Is Fugo HIPAA compliant?

Fugo can sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) for healthcare organisations that are covered entities under HIPAA. However, the platform is deliberately designed so that no protected health information (PHI) needs to appear on patient-facing screens. Patient queue systems display anonymous reference numbers rather than names, and all data integration configurations can be set to exclude or anonymise sensitive fields.

Can we separate patient-facing content from staff communications?

Fugo uses a screen grouping and role-based permissions system that makes this straightforward. You can create separate screen groups for patient areas and staff areas, and assign different users permission to manage each group. Staff communications content never appears on patient-facing screens, and vice versa.

What happens if a screen goes offline?

Fugo does not have native integration with clinical EHR systems like Epic or Cerner, and we recommend that no clinical data flows directly from EHR systems to display screens. However, Fugo can integrate with operational data sources — appointment scheduling systems, room booking platforms, capacity dashboards — via our REST API connector.

How do we manage access across departments?

Fugo media players cache content locally, so a screen will continue displaying its last downloaded content if internet connectivity is lost. Our enterprise hardware players also include watchdog software that automatically restarts the player if it encounters a software error.

Can we display emergency alerts and code announcements on all screens instantly?

Yes — emergency alert broadcasting is a core Fugo feature. You can configure emergency message templates for different alert types (fire, lockdown, weather, code blue, code red, etc.) that are ready to trigger at any time. When an alert is triggered, it overrides all content on every screen in the selected network or location within seconds.
