For 64-bit x86 mini-PCs with a 2-core CPU (4 recommended), 4 GB RAM (6 GB+ for heavy or multi-zone content), and 32 GB storage. Use a SATA SSD or NVMe drive — avoid eMMC, which chokes under Snap decompression.

Fugo runs on most modern Linux distributions with snapd, but a few choices affect how smoothly it performs. Here is what we recommend before you roll out at scale.

Best distros

  • Ubuntu LTS (20.04, 22.04) — full Snap integration and predictable updates
  • Fedora 38+ — fast kernels for newer hardware (install Snap manually)
  • openSUSE Leap — stable base and good hardware support

Use with caution

  • Rolling-release distros (Arch, Manjaro) can break Snap dependencies
  • Lightweight embedded distros (Alpine) often miss required packages
  • Distros without snapd are unsupported unless Snap is added and confirmed stable

Graphics and electron

  • Intel integrated graphics handle 1080p well; newer gens manage 4K
  • AMD RDNA2+ shines on multi-display and video-heavy content
  • Expect 1–2 GB baseline RAM; NVIDIA needs open-source nouveau under Snap

Does the Fugo app support hardware-accelerated video?

Yes. Fugo uses hardware-accelerated video decode through VA-API or VDPAU, which keeps playback smooth and CPU usage low. Intel integrated graphics handle 1080p comfortably and newer generations manage 4K, while AMD RDNA2+ graphics are excellent for multi-display and video-heavy content. NVIDIA GPUs can work but are complicated by Snap sandboxing, so we recommend the open-source nouveau driver unless you specifically need proprietary acceleration.

Can I run Fugo on a Raspberry Pi?
