Samsung SSSP digital signage FAQs

What is Samsung Smart Signage Platform (SSSP)?

SSSP is Samsung’s commercial signage edition of Tizen. The media player runs on a system-on-chip inside the panel — commercial duty cycles, warranties, and a CMS URL in the display’s own setup. It is a different product line from consumer Samsung TVs.

Can I run Fugo on a consumer Samsung smart TV?

No. We only recommend Samsung Smart Signage (SSSP) displays for running Fugo directly on Samsung hardware.

If you already have a consumer Samsung TV, you can still use it as the display, but you’ll need to connect a separate media player that supports Fugo. You can find compatible options in our hardware directory.

Do I need an external media player for my Samsung screen to use it for digital signage?

If you’re using a Samsung Smart Signage (SSSP) display, no. Fugo runs directly on the built-in Tizen SoC.

If your Samsung screen is not an SSSP display, then yes — you’ll need to connect a Fugo-compatible external media player over HDMI. You can find compatible options in our hardware directory.

Can Fugo replace MagicINFO?

Yes. MagicINFO is Samsung’s CMS, not a hardware requirement. Fugo handles design, scheduling, triggers, dashboards, permissions, and monitoring — and works across mixed hardware estates in one CMS.

How do I install Fugo on a Samsung SSSP display?

You can install Fugo manually through Samsung’s Custom App / URL Launcher, or provision supported displays remotely through Tizen Business Manager. Once Fugo loads, the screen shows a pairing PIN so you can add it to your Fugo account.

Can I roll Fugo out across a fleet at once?

Yes, on Tizen 6.5 or newer via Samsung Tizen Business Manager. Register serial numbers, assign the Fugo URL launcher profile once, and each display provisions itself on first network connection.

What content can I show on Samsung SSSP with Fugo?

Images, video, audio, PDFs (cached for offline), Design Studio layouts, web pages, and TV dashboards including Power BI, Tableau, Salesforce, and more. Landscape or portrait; multi-zone layouts supported. Media caches locally through network drops.

Does Fugo support touch on Samsung displays?

Yes, on interactive series such as QMB-T and QMR-T — touch content works without an add-on overlay.

Which Samsung displays and Tizen versions work with Fugo?

Minimum: Tizen 4.0 with SSSP6. Zero-touch needs Tizen 6.5+. Fugo does not support SSSP firmware 1090.7. For new buys we recommend QBC, QMC, and QHC (and preceding QBB/QMB/QHB). Older SSSP6 families remain supported, plus touch (QMB-T/QMR-T), window OM, and outdoor OH. Full list: Samsung hardware directory.
