Introduction

Publishing by property lets you group screens dynamically using custom labels, so playlists and triggers automatically apply to the right screens — even as your screen setup changes over time. Instead of selecting screens one by one, you define a property like Location or Department, tag your screens, and publish to the whole group at once.

Targeting works in real time. The moment a property is assigned to a screen, it starts receiving any content published to that group. Remove the property, and the screen is dropped automatically — no manual playlist updates needed.

Example: You manage screens across three floors of an office. You create a property called Floor with options Floor 1, Floor 2, and Floor 3, and tag each screen accordingly. When you publish a morning announcement playlist to Floor 2, only those screens receive it. Add a new screen later and assign it to Floor 2 — it joins the playlist instantly, no republishing needed.

Note: Publishing by property is available exclusively in Fugo CMS 2.0. It is currently in beta — if you run into any issues or have feedback, we'd love to hear from you.

How to Create and assign Custom Properties to your screens

Head to the Screens page in Fugo CMS and switch to Table View.

  1. Click Properties in the top toolbar

  2. Click Add Property

  3. Enter a Property Label — the name of the grouping, for example Location or Floor

  4. Add the Options that will appear in the dropdown, such as Lobby, Reception, or Boardroom

  5. Save when done

Once the property is created, its column may not appear in the table right away.

  1. Click Columns in the toolbar

  2. Find your property in the list and toggle it on

With the column visible, you can start tagging your screens.

  1. Find the screen you want to tag in the table

  2. Click the cell in your property column to open the dropdown

  3. Select the appropriate value for that screen

  4. Repeat for all screens you want to tag

Publish a Playlist or Trigger by Property

When creating or editing a Playlist or Trigger, proceed to the Screens step.

  1. Select By Property as your targeting option

  2. Choose your property and the value you want to target

  3. All screens tagged with that value will be included automatically

  4. Finish setting up and publish as usual
