As we’re sure you’re aware, social media is one of the most important channels for businesses that are looking to grow their customer base. It’s where your potential customers spend their time online, and it’s also where your existing customers are most likely to interact with your brand. With a clever and curated social media strategy, you can attract a whole lot of new business!

A key part of any social media strategy involves getting your brand content in front of the eyes of the people you’re aiming to sell to. No matter how good your content is, if nobody’s seeing it, it’s not giving you the best return on your investment. Leveraging your digital signage to make sure your social media channels are front and centre is a powerful way to make sure you make the most of your social media strategy.

Luckily, integrating your digital signage with your social media channels is easy - and, best of all, free - when you use the newly-developed Fugo Social Wall app! Let’s take a look at how it works:

Here’s how to get started:

Note: there are two ways to add content with Fugo - via our playlist builder and in our design studio. We’ll cover the steps for both methods in each section.

1. Using the playlist builder

1.1 Log into your Fugo Account. If you don’t have an account yet, you can start your 14-day free trial here.

1.2 Click Apps in the top navigation bar to get to our app store.

1.3 Scroll to find the Social Media Wall app in the store. To find it even faster, you can search for it via the search bar at the top of the store.

1.4 Click Try App to create a new playlist with the app.

1.5 A window will appear where you can customize the app’s settings.

1.6 To get started, simply click the Instagram icon underneath the “Content” tab heading, and select your Instagram profile from the dropdown. If you haven’t added your Instagram account yet, don’t fret — simply click “Add New Account” in the dropdown, and sign in to your Instagram account to add it to Fugo.

1.7 Select “Save”, and you should see your Instagram posts appear in the preview window on the left.

1.8 Next, head over to the “Layout” tab to make changes to how your posts appear on the wall. You can choose to display them in columns, which is great for when you want to showcase a lot of content at once or choose “Mosaic” if you want a good compromise between showcasing a lot of posts and displaying your imagery at a good size.

If your brand has a big focus on imagery, selecting “Showcase” will give your photos and image content an opportunity to be shown at full size on your displays. Choose this option if you really want to Wow potential customers!

Each layout option comes with its own settings, but they all share two; Background Colour and Duration Per Post. Background Colour allows you to set the colour of the wall behind your posts (this can be handy for keeping your displays showing brand colours), and Duration Per Post allows you to choose how quickly your posts cycle through. Once you’ve settled on a layout, you can move on to the final section.

1.9 In the “Wall Settings” tab, you’ll find settings to change what kind of information is displayed on your posts. You can choose to hide your post descriptions, or to hide your photos if your brand relies more on text than imagery. You can choose to show or hide your profile name and logo, or hide other information about your posts such as their publishing date. You are also able to choose how long the app as a whole appears for in your playlists from here, by changing the “App Duration” setting.

1.10 When you’re all done, click Save Changes in the bottom right-hand corner of the window.

To continue on to publishing instructions from here, you can skip to section 3: build out your playlist.

2. Using the Design Studio

2.1 Click Studio in the top navigation bar. Then click Create in Studio to start a new design.

2.2 This will open up a blank canvas for you to start adding content to! To add the Fugo Social Wall app, either scroll to find it in the Apps menu to the right or search for it to find it faster.

2.3 Drag and drop the app onto your canvas from the menu. Or simply click on it and it will be added to your current slide.

2.4 You can drag the sizing handles of the app around to change the size. Make it smaller so you can split your screen and add other content, or make it full screen - that’s totally up to you!

2.5 Customizing the Fugo Social Wall app settings works the same way in the design studio as it does in the playlist builder - all settings will be found in the panel to the left. To bring up the panel, click on the app from the canvas.

You can continue to customize your content however you wish in the studio! Add media from one of our integrations, add stickers, use frames to create unique media stylings. Add slides with extra or duplicate content. You can even split your screen into zones!

2.6 When you’re satisfied with how your content looks, click Save and Close. This will close out the design studio. To publish this content, you’ll need to add it to a playlist, which we’ll cover in the next section.

3. Build out your playlist

Note: If you want to add content you created in the studio to a playlist. You’ll need to navigate to the Playlists page by clicking Playlists in the top navigation bar and Create Playlist to start a new playlist.

3.1 Give your playlist a name (we suggest making it something relevant to distinguish it from other playlists later on down the road.)

3.2 Click Select Screens to choose where to publish your playlist.

3.3 You can also add more content to your playlist by clicking Add More Content and choosing other apps, uploading media, or from the content that you created in the studio.

I want to add the content I created in section 2 above, so I'm going to find it by clicking Studio Content and searching for it in my content library.

3.4 When you've selected all the content items you want to add to this playlist, click Add Items in the bottom right corner.

3.5 Finally, you can change the schedule of your content by setting the start and end date and clicking Week Schedule to edit the days and times your content will run.

3.6 Once you’re all done setting up the playlist, click Publish in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen to publish or schedule your content.

3.7 If you don’t want to publish just yet, you can click Finish Later and come back to your playlist at any time.

Coming Soon: The Future of the Fugo Social Wall

We are developing the Fugo Social Wall app because we think that social media walls are a powerful tool, and could be really valuable to our customers. We’d like to be able to offer an easy, flexible, and versatile solution to integrate your social media channels with your digital signage from within Fugo.

At the moment, we’re still in pretty early development; currently, the Fugo Social Wall app only integrates with Instagram, and can only show posts from your profile. However, we’re working on expanding our app - and you can see our progress (as well as suggesting or upvoting new features that you’d love to see us develop) on our roadmap here.

But, for now, you’re all done! If you have any questions left after this guide, or you have any feedback about the app or about this post, please go ahead and drop our support team an email at support@fugo.ai - they’re always happy to help out!
