What are virtual screens?
💡 Note: As of October 2025, "Embeddable Channels" has been renamed to "Virtual Screens."
If you were using Channels in the past, rest assured the functionality is still the same, just with a new name!
With Fugo’s Virtual Screen feature, you can create a virtual TV channel for your org - giving you a way to surface the information your teams need, in an ambient way that prioritizes their productivity.
Share the virtual screen via URL your team can access in their browsers, or embed it into the co-working tools you’re already using like Notion, Confluence, Sharepoint, or anywhere that supports an iFrame player.
With virtual screens you can:
Group content in the most meaningful way for your org: by department, location, usage, or theme
Share reminders, dashboards, notices, or social media with your teams
Broadcast your company TV channel to all your teams no matter where they are - in the office, at home, or on the go
Use Fugo’s native apps to make content sharing a breeze - Google Slides, news, Looker, social media, and more
Create a zoned noticeboard in Fugo’s design studio to display multiple pieces of content at once
Schedule announcements in advance with Fugo’s playlist scheduler
Track the views on your virtual screen to make sure your announcements are getting seen
💰 Pricing note:
Virtual screens are available on Core and Enterprise plans. They are billed exactly the same way as physical screens - each virtual screen requires one screen license.
How to create a virtual screen
1. Log into your Fugo Account. If you don’t have an account yet, you can start your 14-day free trial here.
2. Go to your Screens page from the top navigation bar.
3. Open the drop down menu on the Create Screens button and choose Create a virtual screen.
4. Give your virtual screen a name. We recommend naming it something relevant to who will be watching or what it will contain.
5. Once your virtual screen is created, you'll be taken into its dashboard. We'll cover what your options are from here in the next sections.
There are a few things you can do from your virtual screen's dashboard:
Once your virtual screen's been created, you'll also see it added as a tile on your Screens page with a "Virtual" label and a quck-copy field for the screen's URL:
How to add playlists to your virtual screen
With your virtual screen created, you're ready to add some content to it!
You can do that two ways:
Adding playlists from the screen's dashboard
1. If you already have playlists created in your account that you want to share to your virtual screen, you can do that from your dashboard.
Click Add Playlist in the top right corner.
2. Select the playlist you want to publish to your virtual screen and click Add.
3. The playlist will be published to your virtual screen (open the screen link to confirm).
You'll see the playlist listed on your screen's dashboard under Virtual Screen Playlists:
Adding playlists from the playlist builder
You can also select your virtual screen in the playlist builder when you are creating playlists.
Here's how to create a new playlist:
1. Go to your Playlists page from the top navigation bar. Click either of the Create Playlist buttons.
2. This will open the playlist builder. Start by giving your playlist a name - something that tells you what's in the playlist or who it's meant for.
3. Click Select Screens.
4. Switch to the Virtual Screens tab and choose your virtual screen/s.
5. It will be listed on the Screens card of your playlist.
6. To add content to this playlist, click Select Content.
7. This will open the content picker where you can choose from your uploaded media, apps, dashboards, or Studio content.
I'll choose a slideshow I made in the Studio for my company announcements for the month of November.
8. With your content added, you can either hit Publish to send it your virtual screens right away:
OR
Use the scheduler to set a precise recurring schedule or expiration date for your playlist.
Since my example playlist is running announcements for the month of November, I'll set my playlist to expire at the end of the month.
