What triggers do

Triggers let Fugo screens react automatically when specific conditions are met. A trigger can fire from live events in connected tools (e.g., HubSpot), a one-click action in Fugo, a time rule, a QR scan, or calls from your systems via API/MCP. When a trigger fires, the content shows for a set duration, then your screen returns to its regular playlist.

This turns screens into a shared surface for celebrating wins, tracking momentum, and surfacing updates that might otherwise get buried in threads or dashboards.

Unlike playlists, triggers are not scheduled. They are fired by live events in a connected platform and appear on screen for a set duration before returning to your regular content.

Typical use cases include:

  • Celebrate a win the moment a deal is marked “Closed Won” (service trigger — available now with HubSpot).

  • Fire a quick announcement from the CMS for an all-hands or on-the-spot update (manual trigger - available now).

  • Post a daily stand-up slide at 10:00 (timed trigger - coming soon).

  • Show a promo or route people when a QR code on screen is scanned (QR code trigger - coming soon).

  • Display a custom alert pushed from your internal tools (API/MCP trigger - coming soon).

What connectors does Fugo support?

When you create a trigger, you’ll see several connector types. Some are available now; others are visible in the modal as coming soon.

  • Manual triggers (available now) - Fire playlists on demand by clicking a button in the CMS.

  • Service triggers - Fire playlists from events in third-party services

    • HubSpotavailable now

    • Salesforcecoming soon

  • Timed triggers (coming soon) - Fire playlists at a specific time and day

  • MCP triggers (coming soon) - Fire playlists from services connected to Fugo via MCP

  • API triggers (coming soon) - Fire playlists from services your team connects to Fugo via our API

  • QR Code triggers (coming soon) - Fire playlists when a viewer scans a QR code on your screen

If you’d like to request a new connector, you can:

What you'll need

To use triggers, you’ll need:

  • An active Fugo account with at least one connected screen. You can sign up for a 14 day free trial here.

  • An account with the tool you want to connect (currently HubSpot, with admin-level access.)

  • Permission to approve any scopes or access requests made during the connection process.

  • A connected screen (compatible smart TV, media player, tablet or Fugo's browser player).

Once connected, you’ll be able to:

  • Select the events you want to use as triggers (e.g., a deal marked “Closed Won”)

  • Refine the rules for when a trigger fires

  • Configure the content that appears on screen when a trigger is met (slides, videos, GIFs, or - coming soon - AI-generated slides)

Manual trigger setup

Manual triggers let you override your screen content with a playlist the moment you need it. Think of them as a one-click way to post an announcement, highlight an update, or take over all screens during an all-hands.

When you fire a manual trigger, the playlist runs for its set duration, then your screens return to their normal schedule.

You’ll find step-by-step instructions in the guide below:

Service trigger setup

Service triggers automate screen updates based on events happening in your connected tools. Once you’ve linked a service, you can define the conditions that should fire a trigger - such as a deal moving to “Closed Won” - and choose the content that appears when it happens.

Fugo listens for those events and fires off the corresponding playlist in real time.

Setup guides for each supported service are available here:
