World Weather App Guide

Make The Weather Fun (Yes, Even In the UK)

How often have you heard the saying, “If you don’t like the weather, just give it 10 minutes?” This common refrain can be heard in cities all over the world where weather conditions can change at the drop of a hat.

With Fugo’s World Weather app, you can use your digital screens to keep your visitors, employees, students, and customers up-to-date on the latest current conditions and forecasts for any location in the world, either local or international.

Now powered by Google Places, our weather widget lets you designate your desired location(s) instead of merely choosing from a drop down list of international cities. Create beautiful, personalized digital weather displays in just moments!

With Fugo’s weather app you can:

  • Choose any location in the world by typing it into our city selector
  • See a 3-day forecast for your selected location(s)
  • Get automatic, accurate updates every 10 minutes - no need to manually refresh
  • Make it international! Choose from 150 display languages
  • Make it personal! Customize your display with your own image(s) and animation

Here’s how to get started

1.Install the World Weather app

1.1 Log into  your Fugo Account. If you don’t have an account yet, you can start your 14-day free trial here.

1.2 Click Apps in the top navigation bar  to get to our app store.

1.3 Scroll to find the World Weather app in the store. To find it even faster, you can search for it via the search bar at the top of the store!

1.4 Click Try App to create a new playlist with the app.

Now that you’ve added the app to a playlist, let’s take a look at how to customize the settings!

2. Customize the Weather app

2.1 A pop-up window will appear where you can customize the app’s settings.

2.2 First, select your display language from the drop down menu.

2.3 Next, enter your location into the City bar (Fugo automatically enters your location but you can easily override this by doing quick search.)

2.4 Choose whether you want to display the temperature in Celsius or Farenheit in the drop down menu under Units.

2.5 Fugo shows the 3-day forecast by default, but you can toggle it off under Show Forecast.

2.6 Next, set the Duration for the Weather app (how long it will run inside a playlist.)

2.7 You can use Name Override to type in a different name for your weather display if you wish.

2.8 You can also change the Font and Theme of your display.

2.9 If you wish, you can add your own background image or change the background color.

2.10 Finally, you can add a subtle background animation by switching on the Ken Burns effect.

Hint: if you want to change the settings of the app at any point later, just click the Setup button on the app’s panel on the playlist page.

Almost there! Now that you’ve got the app set up to your preferences, let’s look at how to finish building your playlist and publish it.

3. Build out your playlist

3.1 Give your playlist a name (we suggest making it something relevant to distinguish it from other playlists later on down the road.)

3.2 Click Select Screens to choose where to publish your playlist.

3.3 If desired, you can add more content to your playlist by clicking Add More Content and choosing other apps or uploading media.

3.4 Finally, you can change the schedule of your content by setting the start and end date, and clicking Week Schedule to edit the days and times your content will run.

4. Publish your playlist

4.1 Once you’re all done setting up the playlist, click Publish in the top right hand corner of the screen to publish or schedule your content.

4.2 If you don’t want to publish just yet, you can click Finish Later and come back to your playlist at any time.
